Training & Workshops

People get better at communicating by doing it.

Training works differently when participants have to speak, explain, respond, listen, adjust, and try again.

Bob’s workshops combine instruction with active practice so people have an opportunity to work on the communication skills they actually use in their jobs.

Programs can be delivered as shorter workshops, half-day sessions, full-day programs, or multi-session training depending on the subject and the group.

Programs

01

Public Speaking

Become more comfortable and more deliberate in front of a room.

Participants work on preparation, structure, delivery, audience awareness, pacing, and the habits that make a presentation easier to follow. The emphasis stays on practical improvement rather than trying to turn everyone into the same type of speaker.

02

Executive Communication

Communicate clearly when people are looking to you for direction.

Leadership communication requires people to explain decisions, set expectations, handle questions, and make complicated information understandable. This program focuses on how leaders communicate when the message has to be clear and the audience needs to know what happens next.

03

Persuasive & Sales Communication

Make the case without losing the person across the table.

Persuasive communication depends on understanding the audience, explaining value clearly, listening to concerns, and responding without relying on a memorized pitch. Participants work on how they structure the conversation and how they adapt when it changes.

04

Technical Presenters

Keep the expertise. Make it easier to understand.

Technical professionals often know far more about the subject than the people listening. This program works on organizing technical information, deciding what the audience actually needs, explaining complexity clearly, and presenting without burying the main point under unnecessary detail.

05

Train-the-Trainer

Help knowledgeable people become better instructors.

Knowing the material and teaching the material are different skills. Participants work on lesson structure, explanation, audience involvement, questions, practice, feedback, and how to recognize when the room is no longer following along.

Process

How the training works

The process begins with the audience and the work they are expected to do.

01

Identify what matters

First, we identify the communication situations that matter for this group and the work they need to do afterward.

02

Learn and practice

Participants learn and practice specific skills. Bob provides direct feedback, and participants repeat the work.

03

Connect it back

The program connects those lessons back to situations participants are likely to face after the training ends. People should use the skill before they leave the room.

Outcomes

Participants should leave with a clearer understanding of how to organize what they want to say, adapt to the people listening, communicate with greater confidence, and recognize habits that make their message harder to understand. Exact outcomes depend on the program. A technical presentation workshop should not promise the same result as executive communication or sales training.
